Here is a quick update on the socks I was making with the yarn from Patricia at DaniellaJoe’s.
In May I showed you the first sock https://rainbowjunkiecorner.wordpress.com/2013/05/27/of-socks-and-dishcloths/
But then a few weeks ago I finished the second sock but it got lost among the other posts I wanted to write
So here is the final pair.
And here I am wearing them.
They are more winter socks so really all I’ve done is try them on.
You may remember that I wasn’t entirely happy with my cast off for my earlier socks.
But this time I had a bright idea and I used a no. 6 (5mm ) knitting needle when casting off and that ensured that the cast off was nice and loose.
I have more sock yarn to make yet more socks but there are so many other things I need to complete first. 🙂
your socks are really cool. They’d be nice and warm under a pair of boots in winter 🙂

Yes and they are so soft. I am really liking hand knitted socks. 🙂

Socks are my least favorite things to make (and you always have to make 2). Good job on making it through! They look really great, and the colors are nice!

Yes it’s hard to get up as much enthusiam for the second one. I have seen methods of making two socks at once but I am sticking to one at a time for the moment.

There’s a cast off called Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off which is a really nifty trick for socks (any everything else which needs a stretchy cast off) Here’s a link to it: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php. Love the blog btw, I’m having fun going back through your old posts 🙂
