I say crochet but this was a little different to ordinary crochet.
This week it was the turn of the brown bag.I had wondered why it needed such a big bag and when opened it was easy to see why.The pile of red, that doesn’t photograph very well, was an acrylic version of what we had used for the needle felting: a great long strand of it. We also had a metal ring suitable for making a wreath, some ribbon and a KitKat.
I didn’t take any interim pictures because once I had started I felt that I had to keep going.
What we did was start with a slip knot in the normal way of crochet but then we made double crochets (US- single crochets) using our hands, more our fingers really, all round the metal ring. We made about twenty, though it did differ a little between different people.
We tucked the ends in round the back as you might do with ordinary crochet. Then added a bow. You could add other things but mine is plain at present.
It was suggested that you could hang them on the front door if you had a sheltered porch. My porch is semi sheltered in that it has a roof but I am not sure I would risk it as it might get stolen.
When I put this next to the front door I added a chain which I screwed in the wood behind, as extra security because it is ceramic, but I did come out one day and found it had been pulled off its hook, so I though someone may have tried to take it. It was just the once though.
So I have my wreath on the handles of the wardrobe in my study bedroom.I don’t normally decorate the study but I will probably leave it there as Christmas decoration.
Sounds like you really enjoyed these makes.
It has been fun seeing what you got in each bag.

I found it fun too; like a Lucky Dip.

I’ve heard of finger knitting but not finger crochet, is it tricky? I’m struggling to picture it in my head.
All of these makes have been really pretty and it sounds like you had a good time making them

Finger crochet is about using your fingers instead of a hook. So you put the slip knot round your fingers pull a loop through under the metal ring. Then pull a loop from the other side of the metal ring through the two loops on your fingers and repeat. it is just the same as if you had a hook but I did find it tricky to get my head around in the beginning.
