My New Top – Almost There

I got my first negative COVID test on Easter Monday which was a bit if a relief because sometimes I felt as if I would go on testing positive forever. Now life is looking up because I can go out and be around people again. I even had my son for supper again on the Wednesday and my daughter and family came down for a night at the end of the week.

I am still feeling very tired and any people who follow my blog where I follow their’s may have noticed that I am not fitting in reading as many blogs as normal. I remember it took me about six weeks to recover, a couple of years ago when I got flu, so hopefully it won’t be long till it is business as usual.

I am still working on the top. I do seem to be concentrating on one thing at a time in recent months.

This last week I have joined the pieces of the top together and started to give them a ribbed edging.

Since the top was in part inspired by the cardigan I made for my granddaughter. I had decided to give it the same front post and back post crochet rib edging.

In the cardigan you can see that the bottom of the cardigan was edged first and then the neck and sides were added.

I am not having an overlap with buttons and button holes, so I decided that I would make the edge as a continuous round based on the method of my Rainbow Knot Baby Blanket.I have only completed two front post and back post rounds and I want to add another four rounds.
Here is what it looks like so far.
Frontand back. The armholes are finished with just one round.

Next week I should be able to show you the finished garment and maybe even take some pictures of it being worn.
